On a fresh but bright late November day at Backworth Hall, Kerrie and Joe were married. It was a lovely day, which started for myself and my assistant Stacey quite early.
I accompanied Kerrie, her Mum and her Bridesmaids to have their hair perfected by the team at Hooker & Young along with Make Up Artists Debbie Thomson of Peek a Boo and Rhiannon Crowther of Once Upon a Time.
Stacey joined Joe and his groomsmen getting ready at their hotel and later at the venue before the bridal party arrived.
Back at the house, the ladies and Kerrie’s Dad were putting the finishing touches to their attire after which we set off for Backworth Hall and Golf Club. Although the Golf course was built in the 20th Century, the Hall dates back to the late 18th century and was the home of Ralph William Grey, a wealthy landowner and gentleman. In the early 19th century as the coal mining industry started to become big business in the region, the estate was bought by the Duke of Northumberland.
It was beautifully held ceremony, Kerrie and Joe’s labrador Rolo was the ring-bearer and was impeccably well behaved.
The best man provided a fantastic speech based around the couples’ compatibility scoring and other topics, I can honestly say that it is probably the best I have heard. It mixed both humour, honesty and genuine affection perfectly.
The evening rolled on and the live band and the DJ were both tremendous.
It was a real pleasure to be chosen to be Kerrie and Joe’s Photographers for their special day and we are delighted that they love their images.
